I am a qualified Signalong tutor. I offer introductory courses and full foundation courses. I am also happy to provide specially tailored training for your particular setting. Learning to sign is fun and I make sure it’s taught in an engaging way and aim for you to leave feeling really confident about signing and knowing loads of signs!

Signalong is a sign-supporting system based on BSL. It is ideal for anyone with communication difficulties and is often used with children and adults with learning disabilities or Autism.

Our family’s experience of using Signalong with our family has been incredible. Our eldest son has Down’s Syndrome and has very little recognisable speech, but thanks to Signalong he has a voice! He has a lot to say and uses signs to communicate with us. It’s also encouraged him to try to speak because he is so much more confident that when he tries to communicate we will understand. Signalong has also been brilliant for our other children in helping them speak and reduce their frustration as part of their language development.

Signalong is great for anyone to learn! It’s ideal for parents and family members and for volunteers and professionals working with children or adults with learning disabilities. It is recognised by many schools, early learning settings and speech and language therapists as the preferred sign support system.

Once you have completed the foundation course you will have all the tools to read and sign anything in the limitless signalong vocabulary.
