Our family

Thanks for visiting!

I love Dave, I love my kids and I love Jesus. I like to write about our little life to capture the memories and moments before they drift away.

Our family is messy but we’ll do!

I love baking, I love reading and I love trying to knit and crochet. I love sharing Jesus with my children in ways that make sense to them – particularly through simple and creative story-telling and play. I love my boy with Down’s Syndrome and love seeing him grow and thrive. I love adoption and how it has changed all our lives.

Make yourself a cup of tea and take a look around.  You might also like to download the free resources I’ve produced for helping you tell your kids about Jesus. Do leave a comment or send me an email.

Our family:

Alice

I am at home with the kids full time. It’s the best job I’ve had but definitely the hardest! I love reading, (but at the moment, I keep falling asleep when I open a book). I like knitting and baking and drinking Yorkshire tea. Knitting projects often go unfinished, tea rarely does.

I am a qualified Signalong instructor and would love to train you to sign. It is one of the most exciting and enjoyable things I have ever learned.

I grew up near Oxford but have been in the lovely North West since I was 18.

Dave

Dave and I got married in 2003. I still feel like the luckiest girl in the world! After working as a youth minister for six years Dave is now working as a chaplain in a High School. Dave loves football – especially watching it with his dad and playing it with his mates. Dave likes music and getting into a good TV series like Lie to Me.

Mikey (six years old)

Mikey was nine months when he joined our family. Mikey has Downs Syndrome and a slight visual impairment. Mikey was diagnosed with Autistic Spectrum Disorder around his sixth birthday.

Mikey thrives on activity and fun. He is funny and charming, confident and smiley. Mikey likes cars, books and dancing to music.

Mikey uses signalong which is a type of signing designed for people with learning disabilities and language delay.

Dan (four years old)

Dan loves music and is obsessed with the drums – he often has a pretend band playing along with him. He loves any game that involves his imagination! Dan likes drawing and baking. His favourite colour is orange and his favourite animal is a giraffe.

Jemima (one year old)

Jemima loves singing and wiggling to music. She’s feisty and irresistibly cute. She has wild hair and a penchant for accessories. She loves her brothers, especially sharing a room with Dan.
