I’m married to Dave and we have three children. Really, we do – you just can’t see them all in this picture!
Mikey is 4, he has Down’s Syndrome, he is active and funny and thrives on praise and lots of short, attention-grabbing activities. Mikey’s learning disability means his language development is delayed and he has a short attention span. Mikey likes active play, books, music and dancing and isn’t so keen on small, focussed play like cooking or painting. We use a type of sign language called Signalong with Mikey – it’s been a fabulous thing! Mikey is adopted and moved into our family when he was 9 months old. He goes to a special school.
Dan is 2, he is a real chatterer and very sweet. Dan really likes having plenty of smiley attention, his favourite things in the world are balls (- he even sleeps cuddling them) and instruments – especially drums! Dan’s a bit more shy than Mikey so sometimes needs a bit of coaxing!
Jemima was born in June 2010 and is the usual new-baby mix of noisy, snuggly and utterly lovely!
Dave has worked as a Youth Minister in a local church, he’s currently working at a high school as a teaching assistant. I thank God for his holidays!!
We’ve both been blessed by being introduced to Jesus by our parents and our prayer is that our kids won’t remember a time they didn’t know about Jesus and that they will all be adopted into God’s family.
