Well done to the winners picked at random – Lynn and Tanya.
a fresh view of Jesus
I’m around Dave quite a lot. I love him, but I’m pretty used to him. It’s easy for me to forget how brill he is. This week Dave’s been away for a few days and I missed him. When he came back I was so excited! I suddenly had a fresh view of him and appreciated him so much more.
Sometimes I’m a bit like that with Jesus too. I love him, but I’m pretty used to him. It’s easy for me to forget how brill he is.
I adore anything that helps refresh my view of Jesus and enables me to appreciate again how good and astonishing Jesus is.
Life Changer did that for me today. It’s a graphic depiction of the life of Jesus by Jason Ramasami. I love the way he tells a story and I love the expressiveness of the apparently simple characters. Watch an excellent promo video here. You can buy the book from The Good Book Company here.
a closer look at Jesus
Illustration offers a whole new way to interpret, explain and present familiar things. I really appreciated the way this book has made me look at Jesus more closely and with wider eyes!
It’s a small book with enough pages to feel really nice in your hands. It takes about half an hour to read – it’s an enjoyable book to whizz through. Having said that, there is so much packed in it I am planning to go through it much more slowly over the next week – I want to really look at the illustrations, check out the bits of the Bible that it refers to and to look again at Jesus with the benefit of the new light the book brings.
The book is particularly designed for people who are new to Jesus, but I think its full scope is much wider. It’s great for people like me who want to be reminded of the Jesus they love, it’s ideal for people who don’t love loads of words and it’s perfect for people who like things that are simple, beautiful, clever and thoughtful. The only thing I would change is that I now want a BIG version with fancy paper too!
you want one, right?
If you would like a copy of this book leave a comment and I will pick two commenters at random to win. The giveaway ends next Wednesday (30th January) and I will announce the winners on Thursday 31st January. The giveaway is open to people in the UK only. Alternatively you can buy one or two (or more) here. It’s lovely to own and great to give away.

Would it be suitable for GNG I wonder? Be good to check it out I think.
Sounds interesting! The GBC suggests it’s a book for up to 21 year olds…..I may be a teenier bit older than that!!
Me too Kay!! I think it’s got a brilliantly broad appeal! xxx
I too am slightly older than 21- but surely you’re always 21 now?
Sounds like a brilliant resource!
Love the video. Will put it on my list if I don’t win! You are so good at recommending books
thankyou for sharing x
Pick me! I love illustration, but I love Jesus more, and would love a fresh perspective on him.
Sounds like something I need too – it’s so easy to take Jesus for granted! thanks for the recommendation – it sounds like the kind of thing even my massively sleep deprived brain could cope with!
Ooh this looks great for the run up to Easter – I bet my little boy would love it too. I can just imagine the bombardment of questions he’d have about what was happening in each picture. Thanks for highlighting it Alice.
ohh sounds interesting. will go and have a look on the GBC now
First ever comment on a blog! This definitely sounds worth reading. If I don’t ‘win’ please can I have a look at yours before I buy one.
