An old-fashioned sweet shop has opened up in our town. Ooh, it’s lovely!!! It’s been fun to walk there as a family, choose our treats and spend the rest of the day soaringĀ on a sugar high. It’s our new tradition for a Saturday. Thankfully it’s not too close to our house or I would also be there on Sunday, Monday, Tuesday…
Mikey has an amazing fake laugh. He tricks me with it nearly every time. I giggle along because it’s so infectious and then realise he’s putting it on and actually I’m not quite as funny as I thought.
Dan stopped calling cucumber “cubumber” today. He’s not far off mastering “Birmingham”. Gosh, I’ll be sad when it’s no longer “Birgenbum”. Yesterday I found myself imagining what he’ll be like when he’s six and then felt sad and naughty – as though by imagining him so grown up I would speed up time and miss this. Yer know?
Jemima grows feistier and funnier by the day. She’s getting so chatty. She became excellent at shouting “sweeeeeeets” today when she felt the jelly babies weren’t coming fast enough.
That’s my girl.

Beautiful family Alice,

Gorgeous all! Funnily enough there is a sweetie fest on my blog today as well.
Our town has two old fashioned sweetie shops and pick n mix at Wilcos – can you imagine?? My waistline can!xx
A sweet shop opens NOW when we’re not there? What next – good coffee? Can’t believe how quickly the kids are growing. I’m still asking the boys if they’ve got their “ginstruments” for their “a -cool-stick” gig. Do I have to stop saying these things when Dan stops saying them? I love your family xxx
My girls are now 17 and 19 but I still catch myself saying ‘hostipal’ and ‘pasketti’!
